Small Crochet Basket - Free Pattern



This is such a fun, quick, and easy decor pattern that is perfect for crocheters of all levels! It is worked in half double crochet which gives it a great texture and weight. In no time at all, you'll have an adorable little basket to keep all of your little knick knacks in (it even makes my "work in progress" look like a decorative accent!

Materials:


  • 2 balls of cotton worsted weight yarn (I used Lily Sugar n' Cream in Teal)
  • 4.5mm crochet hook
  • Tapestry needle
  • Scissors





Abbreviations Used:

ch: chain
sl: slip stitch
hdc: half double crochet 
sk: skip



Instructions:

Ch5 to create a magic ring  Row 1: 7 hdc into magic ring (7)Row 2: ch1, 2hdc in each st around, sl into first hdc (14)Row 3: ch1, *hdc, 2hdc* around, sl into first hdc (21)







Row 4: ch1, *hdc in next two sts, 2hdc* around, sl into first cdc (28) 

Row 5: ch1, *hdc in next three sts, 2hdc* around, sl into first hdc (35) 

Row 6: ch1, *hdc in next four sts, 2hdc* around, sl into first hdc (42)

Row 7-12: ch1, *hdc in next five sts, 2hdc* around, sl into first hd(49) (57) (66) (77) (89) (103)




Row 13: hdc around in back loop only, sl into first hdc (103)

Rows 14-24: hdc around, sl into first hdc (103) 




Row 25:  hdc 21, ch 15, sk 15, hdc 44, ch 15, sk 15, hoc 22, sl to first hdc (103)

Rows 26 & 27: hdc in each stitch around (including 30 ch) (103) 

Row 28: sl in every stitch around (103)
