Pom Pom Coasters - Free Pattern

This is a super quick and easy pattern to make an adorable set of coasters! I was inspired to make these after I found this pattern for pom-pom edges from Once Upon a Pink Moon


Materials Needed


  • Worsted weight cotton yarn for the main color (MC)
  • Fingering weight yarn in a contrasting color (CC)
  • 5.5mm crochet hook
  • 2.5mm crochet hook
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry needle

Abbreviations/Terms Used

  • ch = chain
  • sc = single crochet
  • sl = slip stitch
  • st = stitch
  • dc = double crochet
  • Pom Pom Edge (from Once Upon a Pink Moon):
    • join with an sc, ch 6, 3 dc in 3rd ch from hook (don't pull through the final stitch on each double crochet), yo, pull through all loops on the hook. Cluster stitch made. 
    • ch 3, make another cluster sitch in the loop that closed the first cluster stitch, join with sl where the first cluster begins, ch3

Instructions


Center 


With MC yarn and 5.5mm hook, ch5 and sl to create a magic ring

Row 1: 7sc in magic ring. sl to first sc, ch1 (7)

Row 2: Turn, 2sc in each sc around, sl to first sc, ch1 (14)

Row 3: Turn, * 1sc in first st, 2 sc in next st *, repeat from * to * around, sl to first sc, ch 1 (21)

Row 4: Turn, *1sc in first 2 st, 2 sc in next st *, repeat from * to * around, sl to first sc, ch 1 (28)

Fasten off and weave in ends


Pom Pom Edge


Row 1: with CC yarn and 2.5mm hook, follow the instructions for the pom pom edge above in every other stitch all the way around. fasten off and weave in ends.

Small Crochet Basket - Free Pattern



This is such a fun, quick, and easy decor pattern that is perfect for crocheters of all levels! It is worked in half double crochet which gives it a great texture and weight. Row 13: hdc around in back loop only, sl into first hdc (103)

Rows 14-24: hdc around, sl into first hdc (103) 




Row 25:  hdc 21, ch 15, sk 15, hdc 44, ch 15, sk 15, hoc 22, sl to first hdc (103)

Rows 26 & 27: hdc in each stitch around (including 30 ch) (103) 

Row 28: sl in every stitch around (103)
